[ 윤재 ] Love Trial: Chapter Three

Jan. 18th, 2009 | 02:53 pm

Title: Love Trial
Status: Ongoing (3/?)
Pairing: Yunho + Jaejoong
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Comedy/Romance
Summary: Jaejoong is absolutely sure he isn't gay. He's never felt anything towards another male. Coincidentally, he meets a gay student, named Jung Yunho, who confesses his love towards Jaejoong. He feels a slight sympathy for the other man, and being the open-minded person he is (and after much persuading from Yunho), he decides it wouldn't hurt to go through a trial of being in a relationship with another man.

~-~-~-~-~

"Then, this Saturday, let's go on a date!" Jaejoong sighed, thinking back to Yunho's eagerness after he had agreed to the 'Love Trial'. He could still feel the bright smile blinding his very own eyesight, but even so, he couldn't help but smile too. It was a funny feeling, especially fluttering in his stomach. It was something he hasn't felt before with his few past relationships with girls.

"What are you smiling about?" Kana tapped him when the teacher left to give them a study block (no one really did study).

"Huh? What are you talking about? I'm not smiling." Kana raised a brow as Jaejoong bit his lips to keep himself from grinning.

"It's about Yunho, I bet. Did he finally get to you?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." He continued to deny such things till Kana gave up with a sigh. But being the curious and nosey girl she is, she wouldn't give up that easily. She smiled wickedly at him.

"Fine. I'll just ask Yunho oppa myself." Kana turned around in her seat before Jaejoong could say anything and yelled to the back of the room, "Yunho oppa! Did Jaejoong oppa say yes?!"

"Kana!" Jaejoong slapped his palm over her mouth, failing to shut up her as she licked at his palm and he withdrew his hand in disgust.

Of course, Jaejoong would rather not have the whole school know about their unexpected relationship status. He forgot to mention to Yunho that it should, most positively, be a secret.

Then he was suddenly reminded at how open Yunho is when it comes to matters like this as the man nodded with much enthusiasm. All of his teeth were flashing in an unmeasurable-amount-of-watts smile.

"Yep! He said yes!" He felt sorry for Yoochun, who sat beside Yunho, when the man stepped on his foot under the table due to his excitement.

At least it was indirect as to what Jaejoong had exactly agreed on. The class had their curious stares on the exchange of words sent across the room, especially since their star jock (and crush) was involved in it.

"Congratulations to the two of you!" Kana smiled, "You guys look so good together!"

The words she spoke were clear enough to the ears of their audience. Unpleasant whispers broke out among the students, and heavy frowns were etched on most of the females in the class.

"You guys are dating?" The girl in front of Yunho asked with disbelief.

Almost hesitantly, Yunho nods with a nervous smile. He could sense the atmosphere tensing rapidly.

"That's gross." Another female, who sat beside Jaejoong in the next row, spoke, "I didn't expect Jilgyeong High's basketball captain to like other guys."

Jaejoong lowered his head.

"Yah," Kana growled and spat immaturely, "what's gross is your face."

"I don't want to hear that coming out of a whore's mouth." She spat back, classmates snickering behind her, "How much do you make a day, huh? Must be a lot if you could afford all that shit." She gestured towards Kana's pretty face, indicating that she was nothing but a plastic doll.

"Why, you-" She stood up abruptly, but Jaejoong pulled her back down.

A slam startled everyone to turn around to a fuming Yunho. His fists were clenched against the surface of the desk. He stood up, knocking his chair back and walked up to the girl with hands in his pockets. He leaned down to her face.

She trembled a bit under his piercing gaze and he laughed, "Of course I prefer men. What did you expect? For me to fancy two-faced girls like you?" Yunho straightened himself and glared down at her with a smirk, "Plus, girls aren't half as pretty as my Jaejoongie." Yunho smiled and nudged the girls cheek with his knuckles before seating himself casually beside Yoochun again.

By now, the class was too afraid to speak. Even if he was gay, Yunho still held a lot of power over people by popularity, and his past reputation. This only dropped his power by a mouse squeak.

To Jaejoong's utter relief, the lunch bell rang and people poured out of the class. He never expected for things to turn a different direction so abruptly.

"Sorry about that." Yunho stood by Jaejoong's seat. "I just really want everyone to know about us.."

"It's ok," Jaejoong smiled up at Yunho. The boy could tell it was fake by Jaejoong's down casted brows and the forcefully pulled corners of his lips.

"It's not ok, by the look of your face." Yunho looked down to his feet, "You must dislike the attention. You're really quiet, and I didn't think much of it. I'm so sorry."

"Honestly, yes, I dislike it." Yunho bit his lips at the straightforward answer. "But I brought this upon myself." Jaejoong smiled, taking Yunho's hands in his, "I knew something like this would happen sooner or later, just didn't expect it to be this soon. I guess I prefer it if people knew about it. Saves me the troubles of explaining it to people if they were to find out later."

Jaejoong seemed to like pleasing Yunho, if it were to see that radiant smile everytime.

"We should go eat." Jaejoong stood up, their hands still connected. He turned around to his friend. "Kana?"

Her head was down, eyebrows were furrowed together in deep thought. Jaejoong smiled, knowing very well that this was the face she wore whenever she felt guilty of any sort of crime. And it only confirmed his guess when she finally spoke.

"Sorry.. I brought it up first. I even asked Yunho suuuuper loud.. I couldn't control my mouth because I was too excited.."

Jaejoong reached over and patted her head. "It's not your fault, now stop moping and let's go eat. You owe me some rice cakes!"

And off they went to the cafeteria, ignoring the knowing glances sent their way. It's not an exaggeration to say, things get around the school like the spreading of wild fire.

*****

Yunho shook off his aching muscles after a stretch under the cold winter sun. He rolled up the sleeves of his track suit and sniffed, readying himself in a runner's stretch on the beginning line.

A whistle blew and with an amazing kick off, he swiftly sped down the hard dirt lanes, already outrunning the others.

"Great job Yunho!" The short, yet well built P.E teacher patted his back with gruff hands. "You've beaten your own record, again!"

Yunho panted and bowed politely in thanks as he went to sit at the side as the females began to take their place at the starting line. He noticed Kana as one of them as she rolled her ankles and neck before positioning herself to start.

The teacher blew the whistle, and Yunho was surprised as the petite body sped past the other girls, coming in second to a tall girl. The first placer glared back at Kana and stopped, pretending to tie her shoelace. She sneakily, and almost unnoticably stuck her foot out slightly, tripping Kana when she tried to run past the girl.

The landing was rough and Kana bit her lips at the pain, feeling a bit dizzy at the sight of small stains of blood on the dirt. The girls behind her ran past her, snickering, not forgetting to bump into her 'accidently'.

He could tell that she had trouble getting up, because her knees took the fall badly. With a grunt, Yunho stood up and walked over to Kana and crouched down beside her to inspect her knees.

"Are you ok?"

"Obviously not." Kana growled and flicked the finger at the tall girl, who shot her a surprised look. Yunho chuckled, amused at this girl's fearless behaviour and helped her up by pulling her arm around his shoulder and supported her when an arm on her waist. Many girls eyed her with no hidden jealousy.

"Girls are so scary." Yunho laughed as he seated her down softly on the bed in the infirmary.

"And they're bitches." Kana scoffed.

"But you're a girl."

"I already know I can be a bitch." She smiled toothily and thanked the nurse for the first aid kit to help herself.

Again, Yunho laughed and helped her clean her scraped knees. Once the alcohol touched the cuts, she screamed in pain. Yunho almost fell back in surprise.

"That fucking hurts!" Tears pooled in her eyes as she bit her lips to distract her from the pain.

"Well, duh! Now shut up, I'm trying to help you."

Finally, after much struggling, Yunho managed to bandage up her knees neatly. With an accomplished huff, he patted her knees, earning a loud cry and a slap to his head.

"Geez, I'm a girl! Can't you be a little more gentle?!"

"You're a girl?! Someone who acts as careless and manly as you? I never knew!" Yunho teased, backing away when Kana attempted to hit him, but she failed to reach because of her immobile state on the bed. He laughed as she shot him a glare.

At first, Yunho relied on the rumours to put a personality to Kana's face, but now he could see that they were all just lies. He resented her because of the closeness between her and Jaejoong, who he crushed on secretly. Just like everyone, he thought she was nothing but a slut. Now Yunho couldn't help but feel guilty of hating someone he never even tried getting to know.

Kana had a charm that only people who tried to look deeply would understand. Now he could see why Jaejoong was so attached to her and took care of her as his own sister.

"Hey," Kana poked him out of his thoughts, "I need to ask you something."

"Shoot."

"You really like him, right?" Yunho was surprised at the sudden question.

"Of course! Why else would I be chasing after him?"

"I guess," She nodded dumbly, "That's good. Then I won't have to beat the shit out of you."

"As if you could."

"But I have the advantage. You can't hit me. I'm a girl."

"Not that you can do anything in that condition."

Kana paused, thinking of a comeback.

"Fuck you." Though it failed, so she resorted to cussing immaturely at the guy.

The both laughed at the stupidity of their conversation, feeling refreshed in their souls and minds. Laughter was such a powerful thing.

"Yunho oppa." Kana started after a comfortable silence, "I can call you oppa, right?"

"Mmm." He nodded,  "What is it?"

"Even though I just started to know you, I'm trusting you to take care of Jaejoong oppa."

"Eh?"

"He's very simple.. but complicated." Kana tilted her head as if she were thinking and choosing her words carefully, "Jaejoong oppa is a very open-minded person. That's why he accepted you- he likes to know what it's like to be in someone else's shoes. In this case, he wants to know how a gay person thinks, feels.. etc." She turned to look Yunho straight in the eyes, "I'm trusting you not to take advantage of him."

"You can trust me." Was all Yunho could say in return, with a small encouraging smile.

*****

"Hey.. Jaejoong." The said man squirmed under the other's gaze. He knew it was going to take some time to get used to walking home with Yunho everyday. "Can I call you Jae?" As well as the pet names that'll come his way.

"Sure.. I guess."

"What'll you call me?" Yunho asked cutely.

"Yunho.. of course, isn't that your name?" Jaejoong blinked, not wanting to call him anything mushy. He gagged mentally at the thought of possible pet names for the macho guy. Calling a basketball player 'Yunnie' or Yun'?-- No thanks.

"I meant.. like, a cute name!" Yunho pouted.

"I like your name the way it is." Jaejoong reasoned, "It's a handsome name." And it was the truth; he really did like Yunho's name.

"Really?!"

"Uh huh.. Yunho." Jaejoong laughed as he tested Yunho's name. The awed expression from the taller man made him laugh even more.

"Say it again," Yunho's eyes were sparkling. "say my name again!"

"Yunho." Jaejoong obeyed with an amused smile.

"Again!"

".. Yunho~"

"Again, again!!"

*****

Jaejoong dropped onto his bed the minute he entered his room. Yunho had so kindly walked him home, and he felt good and happy but Yunho's constant begs to say his name got to him.

Annoying, but cute
. Jaejoong laughed to himself.

Even though they've only been 'together' for a short amount of time, there was this bliss he felt just being around with Yunho. Maybe it was because he knew there was someone thinking about him, other than his family or Kana. Maybe, it was because he used to shut people out of his life but this time, there was someone patient enough to work their way into it.

Being with Yunho was never awkward, because the guy just talks too much. But yesterday, Jaejoong saw a shy side to him, when he was standing there, presenting him a bouquet assorted with colorful flowers.

It brought a smile to Jaejoong's face. He brought his arm up to hide his blushing face from the all-knowing walls of his room.

If one could be this happy, it wouldn't be so bad becoming gay after all.

Just as Jaejoong was about to fall asleep, his cellphone vibrated against the wooden night table. He rolled to his side and grabbed his phone. It was a text message from the ID that read: Yunnie poo.

He rolled his eyes at the name. Yunho must've done this when he demanded that Jaejoong gave him his cellphone for a minute in the library.

Flipping his phone open, he read the message:

Say you'll stay~~~ alwaaaayss~~ ♫♪
*blushes* You like it?? It's the song 'Flower Lady' by TVXQ!
You're.. my flower lady~ no wait!! You're my flower.. boy! Man?
Beautiful man.. all mine! ♥♥♥♥♥ No one else can have!
Boo Jae, I love you. Goodnight! *MUAH*

The bile was working it's way up Jaejoong's throat at the girliness of the text. It was in pink, no less, with hearts and such.

Jaejoong may like flowers, but he was no lady! He typed away on his phone:

Go to sleep you big goof! Good night!

There were no hearts, no song dedications- just a normal (and maybe a bit angry), plain reply. His phone vibrated again even before he could place it back on the night table.

What! How could you speak that way,
when I put so much effort into my message?!
Oh, how could you my dear?! *faints*
My Jaejoong is so cruel..

Jaejoong was flabbergasted, although he did find it amusing that Yunho didn't decorate his message this time. How does this guy type so fast? He huffed.

Your Jaejoong?! I can speak however I like!

(Because of their endless chatting, it will now be placed in an easier-to-read format.)

Yunho: Unbelievable! My wife is talking back to me!
Jaejoong: Wife?! I'm a guy!!
Yunho: But you're more beautiful than a girl~
Jaejoong: Hmph! You act more like a girl than Kana! At least I don't text in pink!
Yunho: Kana's a girl? I didn't know.. Pink is for my endless love for my Jaejoongie~
Jaejoong: *GAG* Go to sleep!
Yunho: I can't. Thinking too much.
Jaejoong: About?
Yunho: *greasy* You~
Jaejoong: ...
Yunho: What? You are waisting texting money with just those three dots! Speak more, Jae!
Jaejoong: Goodnight.

Too tired to continue on with their texting, Jaejoong set his phone on silent and smiled, tucking himself into his warm bed. Then he suddenly frowned. Wife? He thought with a sigh, I feel like the girl in this relationship. Unfair.

Unfair that he was the smaller one between the two, and the one with feminine features.

Jaejoong pouted to himself and stuffed his face into his pillow. Soon enough, he had fallen asleep with a small smile on his lips.

The phone's screen flashed, but it didn't shake or make a sound. Fast asleep, Jaejoong couldn't read the last message Yunho sent for the night.

Don't forget about our date tomorrow!
It'll be a beautiful Saturday ^_^~
Goodnight, my love.

[ 유수 ] Blue Ocean

Jan. 18th, 2009 | 02:52 pm
Moosique: 비와 당신 - Rumble Fish

Title: Blue Ocean
Pair: Yoochun & Junsu
Rating: PG
Genre: Romance.. Slight angst? I don't know D:
One-shot

Junsu and Yoochun laughed as they ran around chasing each other in the backyard of Yoochun's house. Ever since Junsu moved into the neighborhood, they had been meeting everyday,
playing countless strange games that they made up with their wild imaginations.

That day was just a normal game of kickball, their minds too tired to think of something crazy.

Chasing after the ball with a gleeful smile, Junsu
clumsily tripped over the ball and squeaked when he landed on the grass with a thud.

"What the heck was that noise?" Yoochun laughed loudly, pointing at Junsu's dirtied face.

"Eh?"

"Ah!" Yoochun imitated him.

"Oh!!" Junsu laughed, not taking the comment to offense. He lay back down on the grass and flung his body around, making the high pitched noise again, "I'm a dolphin! Ah~ Ah~!"

Making Yoochun laugh made him so happy, so he continued doing strange actions, thinking it resembled a dolphin's. He didn't care if his mom will scold him later for his dirt covered clothes and face.

Yoochun wakes up with a grumble when his younger brother screams and throws a pillow at the lump of blanket he was hiding underneath. Mornings aren't his time of day (and neither is night).

"Hyung!" Another pillow, "You're still not up?! We're going to be late!"

"I'm going, I'm going.." Yoochun mumbles as the human alarm clock rushes out of his room while clumsily fixing his tie.

Never could he use a real alarm. He needs a familiar voice to pull him out of his dreams; bring him back to reality.

Yoochun hauls the blanket off and stretches his arms straight in the air. He scratches his head and yawns. The bright morning sun makes him wince, and he falls back onto his bed, face flat on the pillow and butt stuck up in the air.

"Hyung!"

"Alright, alright.." He groans and forcibly pulls himself up.

Standing up with a stumble, he stares at his messy bed through sleep-filled eyes. He grabs the ends of the deep blue blanket and pulls to straighten it, leaving only the slightest wrinkles. He grabs a large grey dolphin doll from the other side of his bed and places it in the center of his bed.

He stares at it for a bit, then with a satisfied smile, he walks to the washroom down the hall for a quick wash-up, then slips on his uniform.

"Yoochun-ah! It's 8:30!" His mom calls and he chokes on his toothpaste.

"Shit! I'm going to be late!" He spits out his toothpaste and rinses his mouth. Speedy steps run through the house; to his room for his bag and jacket and down the stairs to the kitchen for some breakfast.

"Aigo, this boy." His mom tsks with a smile as her son gobbles up the breakfast while standing up with his school bag in hand. His uniform is a mess; striped navy and yellow tie loosely hanging around his neck, buttons of his dress shirt are undone and only one sleeve of his navy blue jacket was on.

"Mm, ohta ohm uhm (gotta go mom)!" He kisses her cheek with a full mouth and she grimaces.

*****

The class roars in laughter as Yoochun barges in apologizing in heavy breaths. It was a normal routine by now and the teacher gave up giving him detention as a punishment for his tardiness (he never learns his lesson anyways).

"Yah, can't you wake up earlier?" Junsu nudges him and he smiles.

Yoochun thinks it's a gift to be able to hear such a beautiful voice in the morning. He has never loved going to school so much, and he would go much earlier if it was possible for his body to take it.

"Can't," Yoochun pouts, "had such a nice dream."

"Of what?" Junsu giggles, "Girls?"

Yoochun frowns and Junsu stares curiously, wondering if he had said anything wrong.

Then a humorous expression replaces the frown and Yoochun pretends to be hurt. "Yah, is that all you can think of me? A pervert? I thought we were best friends!"

A boisterous laugh before Junsu turns away as the teacher begins the lesson. Yoochun's smile faces and he gazes at the smaller man's side profile, it's beauty crafted to the finest; small sparkly eyes that watches the world go on, tall nose that wrinkles every so often at the itchiness of Spring's allergies, cute pointed lips that pulls into a soft smile whenever the teacher jokes and a chiselled jaw carved by an artist from Heaven.

Yoochun wonders, how could there be such perfection?

*****

"You've got to confess." Jaejoong sighs exasperatedly at a sulking Yoochun. "He'll never know if you don't tell him."

"I know," Yoochun snuggles tiredly into his arms on the desk, "but I'm scared.."

Jaejoong smiles knowingly and smooths Yoochun's hair with tender strokes.

"You have one more class with him. It's your chance."

He knows Jaejoong is right.

*****

Yoochun enters his last class a tad too early and sees Junsu gazing thoughtfully out the window, chin resting on the palm of his hands.

With slow, quiet steps, he walks towards Junsu, peaking out the window to see what the boy was looking at so intently.

There was nothing; just an empty field and cherry blossom trees swaying softly against the wind.

"What are you thinking about?" Yoochun finally asks, startling poor Junsu out of his thoughts.

Junsu hesitates, looking away from Yoochun's eyes.

"Nothing."

Knowing how secretive Junsu is, Yoochun shrugs it off, no matter how curious, and sits in his seat beside the man.

His thoughts abruptly spoke of Jaejoong's words: It's your chance. Yoochun suddenly feels pressured and he fidgets, nervously tapping his finger on the desk.

Gathering his courage, he turns his head to Junsu hastily.

"Junsu."

The boy turns to him.

"Hm?"

"Want to come over today? I've got a new game."

Junsu doesn't answer, only long rigged breaths and a blank stare. He feels himself tensing, but a bright smile soon spreads across Junsu's face and relieves his tense shoulders.

"Sure."

*****

At first, they were hesitant. Yoochun slipping off his shoes quietly, and Junsu hanging their coats. Yoochun's mother steps out of the kitchen to greet her son and she pauses when she sees Junsu. He stutters a polite greeting and she greets him as well, but doesn't say anything else.

Yoochun's mother watches them ascend up the stairs, a serene smile gracing her aging face.

No words were spoken between them as Yoochun opens the door to his room for the boy to walk in. Junsu holds his breath and takes in the familiarity of the room.

"It's been awhile since I've been here.. right?" Junsu speaks softly, "I stopped coming since.." Yoochun stares and he sees regret flash through the other's eyes. "Are you mad?"

"Of course not." Yoochun tells the truth, "Why would I be mad?"

"Why can't you?" Junsu turns to look him in the eye, his exploding with sadness, mixed with anger. "Why can't you just be mad at me, tell me that I've almost ruined our friendship for a girl, or yell at me for coming back to you so easily after all that?!"

Eyes casted down the floor, Yoochun's bangs are covering his eyes. He expected Junsu to bring it up, just not so soon.

"Because I can't." He whispers with a sad smile.

Abruptly, arms wrap around his neck, pulling him down for a tight embrace. It feels wet where Junsu's face is, buried in his neck.

"Do you know why I left her?" Junsu asks, voice muffled. He takes the silence to go on, "Because I couldn't bear it - couldn't bear that the person that stood beside me wasn't you.. it has to be you.." Yoochun feels a smile on his neck and he clenches his fists on the back of Junsu's shirt. "I love you."

Junsu pulls back and the smile is still there. He's looking up at him, eyes brimmed with tears.

Yoochun moves into that gentle smile, covering it with his own. Only for him to see, to feel.. to belong to only him.

Carefully pushing them onto the bed, Yoochun pulls away from the touch of their lips and looks down.

The bed is dipped under their weight, the deep blue blankets pulled under Junsu like the movement of water splashing from their light fall. The gray dolphin doll is knocked off, and falls onto the floor.

"I love you too."

Junsu leans up and wounds his arms around Yoochun's neck pulling him into a deep kiss. Their lips move softly and slowly against another, tongues touching slightly, breaths stolen from eachother.

Pressing into the kiss, Yoochun pushes Junsu down to lie back down. He plays at the hem of Junsu's shirt whilst being lost in their passionate kiss. The one they've been craving and needing for so long.

They break off the kiss, breathless. Junsu's eyes are hazy, as if he were put under a spell.

Yoochun flips their position, so that Junsu was lying on his chest comfortably and he wraps his arms around the petite waist. He hears Junsu sigh in content and he chuckles, soothing the back of the man laying on top of him.

Such bliss, Yoochun breathes in the scent of Junsu's hair. It smells of him; the recklessness of playing soccer in the field, the strawberry shampoo, somehow, the ocean breeze and of course, the scent of himself. It's a strange mix, but Yoochun loves it.

"Hey.. Yoochun?" Junsu mumbles against his chest, fidgeting with the sleeve of Yoochun's tee.

"Hmm?"

"I don't remember seeing that doll.. When'd you get it?" Yoochun laughs quietly and pulls Junsu closer to him. He whispers with a sad smile,

"March 15th."

-----------------------

Author's Note: Hurray~ I finally got this completed. It's kind of been laying there in my journal.. half way done and. I had the ending perfectly in mind, but I didn't know how to get to it.

Ok ok, I have some explaining to do- because I made this.. a bit unclear, LOL.

In the beginning, their relationship as friends seem a bit.. strange and not at all as close as it should be. That's because they're still feeling a bit awkward, and the smiles and laughs are a bit fake because of what Junsu did.

March 15th is the day Junsu gets a girlfriend and leaves Yoochun. Therefore, Yoochun buys that dolphin to replace the absense of his best friend. Because you know- Junsu's nickname is dolphin boy ;D LOL.

The most important part (which wasn't very emphasized in the story) is Yoochun's bed. The color 'deep blue' is like the ocean, where dolphins live. If you place the gray dolphin doll in the center of the bed, it visualizes a dolphin swimming in the water.

I know, it's so random.. but I have a yellow dolphin doll (it's name is Susu, LOL) and a blue bed (light blue though) and it just struck my imagination!! XDDDD;;

I hope you enjoyed >///<!!

[ 윤재 ] Love Trial: Chapter Two

Jan. 9th, 2009 | 03:59 pm

Title: Love Trial
Status: Ongoing (2/?)

[Ch.1]

~-~-~-~-~

"Whoa.. your eyebags are bigger than ever!" Kana poked at his eyebag gently, accidently losing aim and poking his eye instead.

"Ow! Kana!"

"Oops, sorry." She laughed and leaned away from the grumpy man.

Sleep was something that didn't come to Jaejoong easily last night. It was harder than he thought; he didn't get his homework done, but instead scribbed nonsense (that related to the somewhat unexpected incident in the library). He tried to get some sleep, but couldn't due to the thought of the gay Jung Yunho's confession.

Jaejoong frowned at the effect Jung Yunho had on him. With time, he though, it'll all just go away.. But why did he have this heavy feeling in his chest? He groaned and buried his head into his folded arms on the desk.

"What happened? You seem unusually out of it." Kana asked curiously, jabbing a finger on his head.

His denial was muffled in his arms, and he blindly swatted her hand away.

Kana rested her chin on the palm of her unoccupied hand as her elbow rested on the desk. She smiled, caressing soft strands of his raven hair. "You're lying."

Sniffing the cold season's runny nose, Jaejoong turned to lie on the side of his head, looking up at his friend. "And how would you know?"

"Oh please," She rolled her eyes, "I've known you ever since I slid through my mom's vagina."

The explicit description was enough to make Jaejoong's nose wrinkle in disgust. "Too much." He shook off the image forming in his head that he clearly did not want to see.

"Jaejoongieeee~~~" Nor did he want to see the man skipping to his desk, with an all too bright smile plastered on his face.

Kana eyed the athletic man with an amused brow raised. Well, this was something you don't see everyday from the charismatic basketball captain.

"Good morning!" Yunho jumped in front of Jaejoong aned slammed his palms on the desk.

"G-good morning..?" Jaejoong's eyes were wide at the unexpected approach. He wasn't ready to see someone he had just walked away from yesterday without feeling guilty.

By now, the whole class was eyeing the pair strangely, wondering why Yunho, the ever-so-straight (or so thought by everyone) jock was talking to the quiet, yet well known beautiful man who happened to really be straight.

"Want to have dinner with me?" His smile was blinding!

Jaejoong felt Kana nudge his sides, shaking him awake from his shock. He side glanced at her with confused eyes, hesitant in answering the question. "I-I.. uhh.."

"He'll go." Kana answered for him.

"Really?" Yunho smiled almost immediately.

"What?!" Jaejoong bit his lips to hold himself from bursting. He definitely did not want too much attention. "No! I mean- I can't because.. I have to, uh.. go hoomee and, and.. babysit my sister!"

"Your sister is in junior high.." Kana smirked at the obvious fake excuses he was using to avoid this dude.

"Well, I'm an over-protective brother!"

*****

Patting his stomach, Jaejoong pouted as it rumbled in discontent. Then he glanced at the long lineup in the cafeteria and sighed as his stomach growled in it's need to be fed, quick.

There was no way he could get Kana and Junsu to drive him somewhere to eat, Kana had a test retake to do since she skipped the test day to see Junsu. Now he was left alone at lunch, wondering what to eat and where to eat. Why does there have to be so many people in the cafeteria?

He sighed and turned around, walking down the halls back to his classroom.

"Jaejoongie~" Yunho called from the other end of the hall. Upon hearing the voice, Jaejoong immediately spun on his heels and ran back the other way, away from Yunho. "Jaejoong?!"

Yunho, who was stuck in the flooded hallways, frowned as he lost Jaejoong out of his sight.

"Ahh~ geez, this guy is so persistent!" Jaejoong huffed and turned a corner, hiding behind a few boxes lined up against the wall.

After a few minutes of waiting and catching his breath, Jaejoong walked out from behind the boxes. He sighed in relief when there was no sign of the other. Still, he felt paranoid and walked his steps with caution.

"Have you guys noticed? Yunho's been acting very strange lately." Just the name startled Jaejoong out of his wits, and he clutched a hand to his heart. The voices were coming from the men's changeroom, the door left slightly ajar. With much curiousity, he peeked inside and recognized the guy speaking as Donghae, the one who always fell asleep in class.

"Yeah. He's been coming to practice late. I bet the coach is going to snap soon! This one time, I tried to pass the ball to him, but he was so spaced out so it landed on his face and he fell to the floor, ouch. Then I was like, oh my gosh! Yunho! But he just started laughing like an idiot. Then I was like, what the hell?" Heechul's hand motions were exaggerated as he babbled.

It was the basketball team, meaning they had practice right now. Yet, Yunho was busy running around the school searching for him!

"It's that Kim Jaejoong guy," He widened his eyes at his name being said, "I've seen Yunho stare at him all throughout class. He even drooled!" Yoochun laughed, "Yunho kept telling me before, how he finally found his 'destined one'." Yoochun rolled his eyes as he quoted the words with his fingers.

"He's worse than Hankyung when he had a crush on Heechul!" Eunhyuk teased.

"Yah!!" Hankyung defended in his Chinese accented Korean, "I wasn't bad! I was real gentleman!"

"Oh, baby! Of course you were!" Heechul giggled.

They know he's gay? Jaejoong tilted his head in thought.

"Ugh, you guys give me goosebumps.. in a bad way." Eunhyuk rubbed his arms as if he wanted to rub away the disgust.

The whole team laughed as they teased each other.

"Jaejoong!" He jumped in surprise and squealed as the grinning man he was trying to avoid, appeared right behind him at a very close distance.

The boys in the change room stopped talking and turned their attentions to the door when they heard the familiar voice of their captain.

"There you are! I was looking for you!"

The door of the men's changeroom opened fully, revealing a topless Yoochun with a greasy smile to fit. "Oh? What's this Yunho?"

"Yo! Sorry, I'm late again. Look who's here!" Jaejoong cringed at the excited high pitched voice coming from the taller man. Before he knew it, Ynuho had his hands on his shoulders, pushing him into the boy's changeroom with a bright smile. "Hey guys! This is my destined one!"

"Eh?!" Jaejoong's shocked reaction added to the laughter of the basketball team. Without a doubt, Yunho was just too straightforward!

"Yah, you don't confess properly!" Hankyung scolded, "He all confused!"

"I did, but I got rejected." Yunho pouted.

"I would too. I mean, who would want a stupid guy like you?" Eunhyuk snickered.

Jaejoong's mind was whirling and his face felt heated with embarassment as the boys laughed and joked about Yunho and himself. How could he say all of this so easily?!

Wanting to get away desperately, Jaejoong turned around and pushed through Yunho and Yoochun. He ran out of the change room in a quick sprint, hoping he wouldn't be chased.

He heard Yunho calling after him, but chose to ignore it and continued to run as fast as he could to his class. Lunch time had only just ended, and he had to bear a few more hours till he could go to a place where he could calm his mind, as well as his racing heart.

*****

Jaejoong was proud of himself for the creative excuses he made up to get away from the guy. Even after he ran away, Yunho still kept approaching him and talking to him during class. This meant, Yunho was not ready to give up pursuing him just yet.

It was after school and Jaejoong had just seen Kana drive off with her boyfriend with the usual, "Do you want a ride home?" and Jaejoong would shake his head with a smile.

Finally, I can go to the library, Jaejoong sighed as he walked with his hands stuffed in his pockets, humming a gentle, untitled tune.

He pulled the heavy doors of the library and traced the familiar steps to the back, where his peace zone was. Maybe he could pull out one of the old books. Old tales may be just as good as now, if not better. He smiled, anticipating the relaxation.

Jaejoong froze the minute he stepped out from the shelves that were hiding the sofa. There sat an anxious looking Yunho with a colorful bouquet beside him.

If not for the bouquet, Jaejoong would be sighing right now, grumbling at the persistency of this chasing game. They're not for me.. are they? He questioned himself.

Yunho looked up and saw the beautiful man staring at him with a curious expression, and maybe a little fear.

"Oh! Jaejoong-ssi.. um, these are for you!" Yunho grabbed the bouquet and held his hands out towards the other man.

"You're here again.." Jaejoong didn't move from his spot.

"Huh?" Yunho withdrew his hands, "Oh yeah.. I knew you'd be here, so I waited."

To Yunho's surprise, a quiet, melodic laughter rung through the small area. He looked at Jaejoong with a worried expression, wondering if there was anything on his face, or his fly was open- or anything embarassing to the point he'd want to hide in his blanket with Bambi in his arms for months.

Jaejoong stepped towards Yunho till they were a metre's distance. He stuck his hands out and smiled, "Thank you."

"Eh?"

"For the flowers."

"Oh!" Yunho put the bouquet into Jaejoong's arms gently and chuckled nervously. Is the man finally taken the offer to consideration?

"Are you here to ask me again?" Jaejoong laughed and sat down, placing the bouquet beside him. He patted the other side of the sofa and smiled up at the taller man. Yunho's drive to keep trying no matter what, was admirable- although it was quite annoying.

"Yes, I am." Yunho took the seat with much enthusiasm. He had a feeling this was going the right way.

The smaller man cleared his throat, "I've been thinking about it.. all night actually." Yunho nodded slowly. "I don't think it's a good idea."

"Wha-"

"But!" Jaejoong cut him off before he could ask any question, "I would like to try."

"Really?!" Yunho's eyes were wide and his smile was as bright as the brightest thing on earth. "So, I was thinking we should only do this for about a week or two.. because I don't want you to feel too awkward or anything, and I'm afraid you might not like it.." Yunho trailed off as Jaejoong raised his hands to stop him.

"How about we just do this for as long as we can. If I don't like it.. you know what happens. We don't need a time limit, just take things slowly.."

"That sounds good." Yunho smiled, liking the way Jaejoong said 'we'.

Jaejoong blushed and looked down as Yunho didn't falter his gaze on him. He couldn't lie that the flowers made his heart flutter a little. Even as a guy, he absolutely loved flowers. He never expected a gift from Yunho, and that just made him smile, because- maybe, Yunho's feelings were genuine.

"Let's call this.. Love Trial!"

"Eh?" Jaejoong looked up.

"Since this is only a trial.. we'll call it Love Trial! As in, on the way to love~" Yunho said confidently, expressing his words with dramatic hand motions. Jaejoong laughed at the man's sillyness, and Yunho couldn't control the wide smile spreading on his face. Today, Yunho thought to himself, is the day he noticed the boy's habit of covering his mouth with the back of his hand whenever he laughed.

"Love Trial? That's so corny.." Jaejoong's voice trailed off as he continued to laugh. His laughter ceased as a hand took his own and he looked into Yunho's suddenly determined eyes.

"Kim Jaejoong."

"Y-yes?" Jaejoong stuttered under the strong gaze.

"Will you be my boyfriend?"

Author's Note (I know it's long, but bear with me DX): Goshes, thank you for those reading this <3 I feel sooooo so so sooooo happy seeing the comments I've been receiving! I never expected the amount (Not counting my thank you replies).

:O I'm proud of myself, hehe <3.

And even though you haven't asked, or said anything about it. I will admit, that Kana is my character because I am so in love with Junsu, LOL. I'm so bad TT^TT;; Though.. I'm sure other writers have done this.. right?! :D *BOWS A HUNDRED THOUSAND TIMES IN APOLOGY*

I've posted this on Winglin and a few people were sad that there isn't Yoosu. I was kind of upset.. because one girl gave me a 'suggestion' of changing the plot to pair Junsu with Yoochun and to find a way to get Junsu to leave Kana and fall in love with Yoochun. -_-;; But I can't simply do that, when I've already had the plot planned. This is a Yunjae fanfic, but to assure you Yoosu fans (and to spoil a bit), there will be hints of Yoosu later on.

So yes, thank you again for reading. :D See you next update!

[ 윤재 ] Love Trial: Chapter One

Jan. 5th, 2009 | 10:09 pm

Title: Love Trial
Status: Ongoing (1/?)

~-~-~-~-~
Jaejoong nodded his head, eyelids drooping for that needed sleep as the teacher's monotone voice drawled through the lesson. He was absolutely sure, if he were to be in this class any longer, he'd collapse onto the desk.

"Oppa, oppa.." The girl (his friend) seated beside Jaejoong nudged him, resisting the urge to push him off his seat, "Oppa, wake up.."

"Huuhh..?" Jaejoong turned to the girl, still in his half asleep state.

A note was slid to his side and he read it, his eyes widening at the written content. Oh, he was definitely awake now.

Oppa, have you ever thought about being gay?

Grabbing the pen, Jaejoong hastily scribbled something onto the note and slid it back to her.

What the heck are you talking about, Kana?!

She rolled her eyes and wrote something back, although it took quite awhile.

The question is straightforward enough.. but I mean, Jung Yunho is always staring at you.

Jaejoong scrunched his brows together. Who's Jung Yunho again? He wrinkled his nose in thought, Oh! The basketball team captain! Jaejoong looked back over his shoulders, and surely, the guy was staring at him!

How do you know he's not looking at you? Jaejoong replied, now somewhat at annoyed at her.

Trust me, I know. At first I thought it was me too, but I just HAD to make sure first! So I pretended that I had to go to the washroom, just to see if Yunho's eyes would follow me, but his eyes remained glued to our desks, to YOU. I was kind of sad, but I already have my Junchi-poo. Who knew the basketball team captain was GAY! You two look good together~

He gawked at the words. It couldn't possibly be him. They were seated next to the window, so maybe Yunho was just looking outside.. not at him! That's right, there is absolutely no way..

Jaejoong could see the amusement in Kana's eyes, and he suddenly had an urge to wipe off that teasing grin of his friend.

I'M NOT GAY! Jaejoong replied with the three denying words in comparison to the paragraph Kana wrote. Obviously, he wanted to drop the subject.

Don't worry.. the denial stage will be over sooner or later..

This girl is impossible, Jaejoong rolled his eyes. He grumbled in annoyance and slammed his head on the desk.

"Kim Jaejoong, please refrain from denting my desks with your head, thank you." And the teacher continued to drawl through the lesson in her unenthusiastic voice.

Jaejoong twitched in his need to slam his desk back on the desk, and Kana giggled.

All the while, a certain man in the back was still keeping his eye out for the two.

*****

"FINALLY! I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO KILL MYSELF IN THERE!!" Jaejoong threw his hands in the air, screaming in happiness, ignoring the strange glances of students flooding out the entrance of the school.

Finally, school had ended - for the day, and Jaejoong couldn't be any happier, till tomorrow after school, and the next.. and the next.

"Oh geez, you're so embarassing!" Kana slapped him on his back, yet the free-filled smile on his face was still frozen in place. "I think we have homework.."

Then his smile dropped at the word he dreaded. That feeling of freedom vanished in minutes too fast, and Jaejoong sighed turning to his friend with a pout. "Kana-yah~~"

"Uhh, you're asking me to help you? You should know by now that I don't even do my homework!"

Right, Jaejoong sighed loudly. Just when he thought he could be laying in bed.. with a book in hand, finding himself lost in the tales of a man and woman struggling for their undying love..

"Oh look! It's Junsu!" Kana pointed excitedly at the man leaning patiently against his black SM7, "JUNSU BABYYYY~~"

Junsu turned at his name, he waved at Kana with a huge grin on his face, acknowledging Jaejoong with a nod.

Jaejoong smiled back (very forcefully), trying with much difficulty to not roll his eyes as the lovey dovey couple hugged and exchanged a few kisses.

"Do you need a ride home?" Kana looked at her friend.

Although Jaejoong was very tempted, he would rather not sit in the same car as the pair would flirt and talk about things he didn't really want to know about in front of him. He would rather not risk losing his sanity and going to the phychiatrist. "Nah, it's ok. I need to go to the library and finish up my homework."

"Why not just do it at home?" Junsu asked.

"He doesn't look doing homework at home." Kana answered for him, pushing Junsu to the drivers seat.

"Oh, ok. I'll see you later then." A wave goodbye and off they went, leaving Jaejoong to wave at the dust left by the car. "I guess I'll head off to the library now.."

He retreated his steps back into the dreaded building.

"Did you see that? That whore just left with that guy again." Jaejoong stopped in his draggy steps to listen to the gossiping girls leaning against the post holding up the roof of the school entrance.

"He's so much older than her.. What's her name again? Song Kana? I bet she's not a virgin."

"That slut. She's so close to Jaejoong-ssi too.. I just know she's trying to get in his pants too."

Jaejoong balled up his fists, and he could feel his nails digging into his skin at the tight grip. He knew - Kana wasn't a virgin. In fact, he had been friends with her since birth, he had been there when she told him how Junsu loves her so deeply; with his heart, mind and soul, and how she felt the same for the man. But that doesn't make her a horrible person. To him, Kana is a wonderful girl; like a sister to him.

He was spiteful of that word: slut.

"Yah, don't you dare say shit about Kana." The girls snapped their heads up, startled by his harsh voice. "She is not a slut."

"J-Jaejoong-ssi.."

"If I hear one more word out of you two, I'm going to kill you." He glared hard at them, his cold expression sending shivers up their spine as they ran off in a stumble, "Bitches." He scoffed and resumed his walk to the library.

The library was chilled and quiet. Students had glasses pushed up to the bridge of their noses, licked fingertips flipping pages, and eyes dry from being too strained on the words of the textbooks.

With so many people keen on studying, all the tables were always occupied, leaving Jaejoong with nothing. Luckily, he had a secret spot all to himself. Jaejoong hated being surrounded by many people, so he always went to the back corner of the school's large library where a comfortable couch stood behind towering bookshelves.

With a relaxed sigh, he plopped himself onto the couch and closed his eyes. Oh, how he loved the feeling of peace. Jaejoong sunk into the cushion of the couch and felt his mind become fuzzy. Somehow, he would always manage to fall asleep here, and no one would question him about it. No one even came to this area, it was all outdated books that no one ever bothered to read.

Feeling a weight dip into the couch beside him, Jaejoong opened his eyes, turning his head to meet the sharp eyes of a taller man.

Wait a minute.. that's Jung Yunho!

Realization dawning on him, Jaejoong widened his eyes and jumped to the other end of the couch. It was out of pure reflex, it couldn't be helped- especially after what Kana had told him about this tall, staring weirdo.

"W-w-w-w-what are you doing here?" Jaejoong stuttered.

"I can't be here?" Yunho raised a brow, scooting himself closer to the raven haired man.

"Absolutely.. can!" Cringing at his own voice pitching at least five octaves higher, Jaejoong backed into the edge till he could back up no more.

"Mmhmm.." The taller smiled, "I'm curious, Jaejoong-ssi.."

"Y-y-yes?"

"What are you to Song Kana?" Their faces were about a finger (horizontally) away now, and Jaejoong could feel the hot breath tingling on his lips.

"E-eh?"

"Are you her second boyfriend or something?"

"HUUHH?!" Jaejoong felt the bile rise up with just the thought of being Kana's boyfriend, and a secondary one at that. Is this what they call social incest?

"Are you deaf? I keep having to repeat.." Jaejoong gulped when he saw Yunho look down at his lips- just for a second.

"NO! I mean, I'm not deaf- and and and I'm definitely not Kana's boyfriend!"

Jaejoong let out a breath of relief as the taller man moved away. Yunho nodded approvingly, "That's good.. that's good."

"What's good?" He just had to ask.

"That you're single." Yunho smirked.

"Who said I was single? I only said I wasn't Kana's boyfriend.. It's possible that I would be dating someone right now! Just not Kana, no definitely not Kana - she's like a sister to me!" Word vomit, yep, most definitely.

"Uhh.."

Shit, what am I saying?! I don't have a girlfriend! He's going to think I'm weird or something!

Yunho cocked a brow at the other's rambling and furrowed, thoughtful expression, but he chuckled, thinking it was adorable.

"Really? You have a girlfriend?"

"YES! Wait, no! No.. I don't." Jaejoong hung his head low. I can't lie!

"Have you ever thought about being gay?"

Now where did I hear this question before- Oh. Oh my God..

"WHAAT?!" The impact of the shock was enough to send him tumbling to the floor, off his glorious couch. Yunho reached out his hands to help Jaejoong up, but the man ignored it and stood up abruptly, staring down at Yunho.

"So.. have you ever thought of it?" Yunho pulled him back down to be seated on the couch.

"NOT AT ALL!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes!"

"Do you want to try?"

"Eh?" Jaejoong moved back a little and his eyes went bigger than it already was. He looked at Yunho straight in the eyes, clearly confused. Try?

"Try being in a relationship with me." If it was possible, Jaejoong's eyes would have fallen out of it's socket. "I really like you, Jaejoong-ssi."

"Um.."

"I know," Yunho cut him off, "it's weird getting a confession from another guy, but please, just try? If you don't like it, you can dump me- but if you like it, we'll have a real relationship. Ok?"

"I-I don't know.."

"Please, Jaejoong-ssi.." The other's persistence seemed to be dying, fearing the rejection that could crash down on him. His eyes were anxious, searching Jaejoong's eyes for a hopeful answer. Jaejoong felt his heart sink just thinking of what those eyes would look like if he were to reject the offer. Yunho took Jaejoong's hands in his softly, "Please.."

The grip on his pale hand was trembling. Jaejoong looked at him sympathetically.

"I'm sorry.. I.. I just can't."

Jaejoong pulled his hands out of Yunho's grasp and gathered his things, avoiding the now frozen man's eyes. He didn't want to see it; the look of rejection. A small bow, and he left Yunho seated on the couch, never turning to look back.

Fiddling with the strap of his backpack, Jaejoong sighed. It can't be that bad. He probably doesn't like me that much. He barely knows me! It's just a tiny crush.. yeah, that's it.

Only being able to lift a small amount of guilt off his shoulders, he clucked his tongue and decided it would be better to just go home and sleep.

soft fingers smooth gently over the ebony keys.
he presses, and a note plays - then another, and another -
a melodic harmony in the air.

I watch him; eyes closed and a serene smile gracing his sweet lips.

"open.. look at me now."

he hears nothing, lost in his own world of musical notes and eloquent lyrics.

he sings, and my arm twitches ever so slightly, eyelashes flutter, falling at the tranquility of his voice..
but I can't, I want to see -

face furrowed in deep concentration, moving lips, husky breaths, drowning in the song.

my nose stings - and I fight back against the violent waterfalls..
trembling, holding my breath, gripping onto the chair beneath me till my knuckles turn white.

he holds a note.. falling, falling, falling deeper and deeper;
just as I.

fingers halt and pulled to his lap shyly, he clears his throat

"hyung," he turns to me, a pink tinge on his cheeks, "how was it?"

I gaze,

yet he waits patiently and nervously, stroking side bangs with his fists.
his breathing, the ruffling of his clothes as he shifts; everything about him was music to my ears.

"beautiful."

and he smiles.. so brightly,
like the sun peeking through the curtains of the window behind him.
